11.1.09- Day 165

This is the title of our current series at church. It's all about learning how to live when we face difficult things in life. I really appreciate this series because as Americans, (and maybe anyone in the world) we tend to seek comfort above all else. We think we will be safe and happy when we finally reach total comfort. However, we are guaranteed to face pain in the world. And even if it is not occurring currently in our lives, we only have to look a few people or countries away to see its effects. We need to be prepared as Christians to offer the truth when hard things happen. We need to understand how to process pain with God and with others. We need to respond to hard things differently than the world does because we have something they don't- HOPE. Personally, I need these reminders and I need God to give me more faith.

Also today... church, Bronco's game/lunch, New York City Marathon (go USA men and Ethiopia women!), work on some Medicaid forms, chat with Steph, running, salmon/sweet potato fries/salad, surfing the internet, soon to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, then who knows what...
