....... FREE!!!!!!!!!!Today Alan and I paid off my student loans, making us debt free (minus our mortgage!) We have been saving every extra penny that comes in, plus all of Alan's salary and putting it towards paying this off. We actually did it in one less month than we thought it would take. It feels so good to have that taken care of! We went to Dairy Queen for icecream to celebrate (big spenders huh?) haha.

Way to go! But now I am dying to know how you're debt free right after graduating from a doctoral program? I am still floundering in loans just from my grad program that I finished in May 2008! Any advice would be great! Love you both!
Hi Jennifer, we had some help during the first year and a half from the parental units. I also had a small scholarship that helped as well. It also helps that we didn't have to take out any money for living expenses since Alan was working. And it helps now that we have two incomes, because we can live off of most of one, then put the rest of that one plus the entire other income towards loans. We are pretty frugal as well.
